DOUBLE BREAST JACKETS AND BLAZERS
Wednesday, January 18, 2012
So this leads me to talk about double-breasted jackets. Double-breasted jackets have two rows of buttons down the front, not one row like regular jackets. Typically associated with pea coats or nautical jackets, the double-breasted sport coat is giving men some added style and a debonair air to their look for Fall 2011.
What I love about the newness of double-breasted jackets is that it’s a design detail that is adding a touch of old school class to the modern man. There is something so new and fresh about this 1930s silhouette that it can instantly take you to the modern day. Pair it with your denim and a button front shirt, or even be bold and go for a vintage style (but new) suit with the double-breasted detail.
But here is one MAJOR tip. If you are going to try the double-breasted jacket, make sure that your pants are slim to your leg. I’m not talking “skinny,” just slim or straight. If you wear wider legged pants, then your look will be overly reminiscent of the horrid 80s suits, or the gangsters of the 30s, so remember to balance that double-breasted with slim leg pants.
Get this this season and be infront of your peers in fashion.
