Topman Summer Suits

Topman: Summer Suits
Topman has stepped up its campaign to promote suiting with a summer suits lookbook. Emphasising the bright and bold, this campaign puts a summery spin on casual tailoring.
The suits are available in a variety of styles. Bright colours such as turquoise, coral and gold are an on trend option for those that want to make a statement, while textured suits in black, greys and browns provide a traditional backdrop that can be contrasted with bolder pieces for a more refined look. The trousers are worn with turn-ups or even replaced by shorts, with Converse style trainers being the footwear of choice. This footwear choice only further highlights Topman’s intention of dressing down the suit and showing its versatility.
The suits are paired with printed shirts and t-shirts in patterns evocative of North Africa and the Middle East to give an old-school expat quality – think Tom Hardy in Inception. Bright solids are used to create striking colour blocked looks that have a clean modern edge, while coloured suits are worn with Oxford shirts in more subdued shades to channel a sense of Ivy League eccentricity.
The collection also features a range of knitted polos that are reminiscent of James Dean, adding a sense of retro cool when it comes to dressing down the suit.
Topman’s Summer Suiting plays with often formulaic suiting to create a range of unusual looks, both smart and casual. The lookbook manages to encapsulate what spring/summer 2012 is all about: Mixing neat, classic tailoring with bold, carefree patterns and bright colours to bring a sense of fun and luxury back to our wardrobes.
