Wednesday, May 02, 2012AllSaints AW12 Collection
The British high street retailer held its press event last week (25th March), complete with a familiar installation of their signature mannequins and deep set lighting to reflect the mood. The brand featured garments and accessories from both their menswear and womenswear collection, giving fans a first look at next season’s hot picks. As a brand known for its unique edginess and directional clothing, AllSaints continues to convey its commitment to quality materials and fine craftsmanship with their upcoming collection.
In a palette of muted earth tones with hints of camel, AllSaints’ designers revisit timeless menswear classics – featuring military inspired designs and tailored pieces with a contemporary edge. One of the stand out pieces spotted in the AW12 preview is a camouflage quilted jacket, proving that this season’s emphasis on prints will carry on throughout 2012. This particular jacket features masculine multi-pocket detailing, and is perfectly combined with dark denim. Waxed jackets are also given AllSaints’ trademark utilitarian detailing, ensuring that their garments are both stylish and functional.
The AW12 men’s footwear collection presents a choice of heavyweight shoes and boots for the colder months. There is an emphasis on classic handmade British footwear, with smart Chelsea boots, traditional leather lace ups and brogues with buckled detailing all included. Spotted in the preview collection are a pair of sooty brown boots with a leopard print design – again emphasising the industry’s fixation with prints whilst giving them a cool Rockabilly inspired feel.
Menswear mannequins featured in the shots are styled with slim fit garments and contemporary silhouettes. Layering is key; with dense jackets and sharp blazers positioned over textured knits, button down shirts. Casual outfits are effortlessly matched with a selection of vintage look denim staples.
The brand revealed that some styles from the AW12 collection will filter their way onto the site in August. We can’t wait to see the lookbook shots for this collection.
