SHELLINA SPRING/SUMMER COLLECTION 2012

Shellina is a amazing designer from Toronto, Canada who was born in Tanzania. Her collection is made up of exuberant prints in simple cuts of the nonchalant. She launched her first collection in Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania in the Swahili Fashion Week 2010. The line is inspired by traditional wraps that she grew up in in Tanzania.
Her collection which is called Shellina is an ethical clothing line which contributes to remove education barriers faced by children in the rural areas in Tanzania. The majority fabrics are sourced from Tanzania at the fair market to encourage fair trade and sustainable standards of living in Sub-Saharan Africa.Eco-friendly fabrics such as cotton and bamboo are also used to bring Shellina's design into life. In March 2012 Shellina pioneered The Pencil Project in which school supplies are donated to rural Tanzania schools for every purchase made. She is one designer people should be out on a look out. Proud of you!! :)))
