Christian Louboutin Opening First Men’s Store In London

Anybody who is even remotely interested in fashionable footwear knows, and likely reveres, the name Christian Louboutin. The Parisian shoe savant, whose unmistakable red-lacquered-soled women’s shoes have become an iconic and much sought-after item, began his empire as a single shoe salon in 1991 and boasted Prince Caroline of Monaco as his store’s first client. Over 45 Christian Louboutin boutiques now exist worldwide, and celebrity style icons such as Kanye West, Will.I.Am and Ronnie Wood have publicly championed their menswear pieces.
Now joining those legendary ranks can be easier than ever – monetary cost not withstanding – as sources within the Christian Louboutin camp have confirmed that this November 2012 will see the opening of their first UK men’s store in Dover Street, London. The news follows the opening of a standalone men’s store in Paris last September and the announcement of another standalone men’s store which is to open in New York’s Meatpacking District sometime this August.
Two Loubotin boutiques are already open in the London area, but this will be the first to dedicate itself exclusively to men’s shoes and accessories. The new London store will reportedly be a 1,290 square-foot space located a short distance from Japanese fashion designer Rei Kawakubo’s six-foot department store, Dover Street Market, and will boast the largest selection of men’s Louboutin pieces available anywhere in the UK.
The announcement follows in the footsteps of its revelation that it will be expanding into beauty and care products, marking the continuation of an especially exciting and innovative year for the brand.
