LOOKBOOK: O’eclat “Soigne”

Feminine, poised and youthful are three words that would sum up Gbemi Johnson’s recent work. Her Brand,O’eclat (Pronounced O-ey-Klah) has released a new collection called “Soigné” which means Sophisticated Elegance in French.
The collection is a celebration of the modern woman’s style and elegance. It includes Clutches,Shoulder bags,Weekender Totes,Document Clutches,Miniaudieres,and reintroduced its signature Box Bags in a mini version.
This collection takes inspiration from the beauty and complexity of the African heritage. The brand seeks to recreate contemporary and elegantly designed handmade purses and handbags using indigenous African fabric for the fashionable women. Most striking feature about the collection is the pervasive use of colours.
The historical influence is evident, but the exaggerated shape and unexpected textures which are Adire and leather are unmistakeably Johnson’s stamp on the design detail.
