Mercedes-Benz Cape Town Fashion Week

Top-notch South African designers unveil their 2012 spring and summer collections

Known for their stylish, luxury vehicles, Mercedes-Benz is exchanging rough terrain for the elegance of the catwalk; they’ve teamed up with African Fashion International (AFI) to bring you the 2013 Cape Town Fashion Week at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from Thursday, 8 to Saturday, 10 August 2013.
With multiple shows over the three-day period, the festival will act as a platform for top-notch South African designers – both legends of past and up-and-coming household names – to unveil their 2013 spring and summer collections.
Last year, David Tlale’s weirdly wonderful collection showcased fifty shades of fashion, and revered fashion designer Gavin Rajah’s grand collection featured chic suits and glam gowns. Not to mention, 2012 also saw a plethora of lace creations and the addition of peplum to the local catwalks.
The official theme for the 2013 Cape Town Fashion Week has yet to be announced.
“With the anticipated reunion of established and celebrated designers, along with the entry of upcoming designers, this year promises to unveil an abundance of extraordinary and revolutionary fashion,” Allana Finley, AFI’s Global Brand Manager, reported.
