OUTFITS: PRINT ON PRINT LAYERING.

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

When looking to separate your outfit from the rest of the crowd, a bold, on trend print is a great place to start. Prints are huge this season for menswear as we can see them on the runways of each designer who is interested in designing menswear collections. One must be careful not to over do the print (no one wants to look like a clown right?).
I love my collar floral T-shirt as it has a bold yet very soft touch and with that I was able to layer it up with a yellow paw print V-neck shirt just to mix it up and have a touch of colour on my outfit. The checked blazer which has a velvet touch on the collar gave me a whole range of effortlessly cool off-duty look. The dark green chino trouser and the converse shoes (which every man has to have) gave me a comfortable look thus blending well with the whole print look I was going for.
The key is to keep the rest of your look fuss-free and neutral. By pairing your printed item with classic wardrobe staples not only will you avoid creating a patterned mess, but you will also allow your statement piece to take center stage.Just remember that trend-led prints often fall out of favour quickly and, as such, it would be wise to limit the amount you spend on an item like this. My recommendation would be a printed tee from affordable stores and combine it with everything from shorts and chinos to linen trousers and indigo jeans.
